COVER LETTER
Design has consistently been a natural curiosity for me. I am a licensed architect in Oregon with nearly seven years of experience. I would pursue a reciprocal license in New York and intend to be LEED certified. My current role primarily involves concept design and shaping early phases of a project. As I am often on one to three projects simultaneously, I thrive in an iterative and fast paced atmosphere. I have cultivated a personal workflow that offers a unique perspective to a project. I produce diagrams, drawings, and renderings exclusively in Revit, eliminating the need for post production. This process has become beyond successful that I have taught it firm wide. Additionally, I hand sketch over all forms of representation and gain a different understanding and form a design concept. I appreciate how much process can influence a project. Presently, I am in charge of the progression of concept final deliverable(s) for the client. This involves clear communication with supporting designers, the project manager, and the partner in charge. Additionally, I am mentoring less experienced designers, specifically how to produce effective visuals and iterate design studies. Due to the smaller projects I have been a part of, I have had more focused time with clients and am comfortable forming a connection. Being on an intimate team is ideal, everyone has a strength and clear contribution. It has allowed me to take more ownership of design. There is always more to learn, I am actively expanding my technical knowledge as well as other phases of a project. Construction administration specifically, I have had exposure to this phase of a project but would like to seek a more in depth experience. As this profession fluctuates, I asked myself what I would be doing if I were not an architect. I couldn’t come up with another profession that would make me as happy. All I want to do is sketch big ideas and play with small elements until the design becomes more and more resolved. Designing is how I have fun.REFERENCE
